The "FREE MODEL" subject was such a success that I think we should do it again!

Judges will be the first FIVE members to reply to this post! ... (Watch those buttons)

SO, here is the second contest... (I have no conection with the guys that ran the first one, so I hope I don't get into trouble for stealling their thunder!! Enter Here!...http://www.cardmodels.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6335

RULES...

................( subject to change till FEB 5, 2007)



1) Find a "FREE" model on the net

2) Post a separate "Build report" in your appropriate catagory ... with pictures ( if possible)... while you are building the model.

........... No build report ... then NO ENTRY .... NO EXCEPTION ... Sorry! So, start your build report today! Just in case you get a last minute urge to enter! Build report should be completed, with final "entry picture", by the close of the contest.

YOU MUST POST AN ENTRY HERE ...http://www.cardmodels.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6335 ... by Mar 15, TO QUALIFY.

3) Winner(s) will be announced on "THE IDES OF MARCH" ... (Midnight, March 15, 2007, forum time) or as soon as possible in case of technical difficulties.

4) Judge's decision of "BEST MODEL/MODELS" is final. There may or may not be additional prizes, depending on sponsors!

5) If more than 20 entries are received by March 15, then the judges will deliver their verdict of the "BEST FIVE" ... These will be submitted to a 'poll of the membership' to deterime the "BEST OF THE BEST" ... Final voting date ... Mar 22, midnight, forum time.

(6) Judges are NOT disquallified from participation.

(7) MODIFICATIONS.....

The addition of bits of wire or wood dowels, etc. for improved detail or strength would certainly be OK.

NEW, add-on parts, which YOU have designed, should be OK, provided that you make the "new" parts also freely downloadable. Or, if you describe your modification, in your build report, so that anyone else might also make those modifications.... that should be OK.

HOWEVER, if you want to repaint an entire model, then you must have the original author's permission to make those files downloadable.

I guess the bottom line is: Whatever your final model ends up to be, should be available, free, for anyone to reproduce. Just in keeping with the "Free Models" theme of the contest.

The question has been asked..."Are modifications allowed?"

Personally, I would like to see modifications allowed..... provided that the final model still remains freely and LEGALLY, downloadable.
