Default Very Dissapointed.

I placed an order with Lighthouse model Art in June (before their announced closure) and never received it. I received an email to say that my package had been posted (order no.474).

Nothing. I was planning to get back into the hobby after a while away but now I'm kinda soured.

I've tried to contact ralf to no avail.

poop. I'm not even sure what I ordered exactly anymore. Bleagh.

Don't give up. I'm sure there's a reason, and that it will eventually solve.
Don't quit The Hobby!
In the meantime you can start a project from other source.
I hope you keep it up.

Why not try one of the FREE online models and enter the contest!
Just go to: http://www.cardmodels.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20
Find something you like and get into the contest.
That would be a great way to get going in the hobby!
Sorry to hear about your shipping problems but don't give up on a wonderful hobby!!!

Hey Mouse muffins,

Gotta love that name! Take a look around my site and then email me off list. No one should get bummed out because of a bad deal in card modeling. There's too much to enjoy with it and too many folks that value their friends and clients.

Default Same thing

You are not alone in this situation. I placed an order the first day of the sale. Two days later it said the order has shipped. Weeks went by and nothing came. Good thing my credit card was never charged. I was upset that I did not get the model but have others to work on in the mean time

The most annoying part was the 6 emails I sent and got not reply on to find out what happened. I have order from lighthouse in the past and the service was good, now it is PMI for US distributors.

If you order shipped back in June you would have it by now. Only takes a couple weeks at most by surface. I have a couple of models that I could send you if you are interested. Just let me know what type of models you are interested in and I will see what I can do. Don't want you to be soured on a great hobby.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Just checked my paypal account, which shows $ 61.41 USD payed on 6th june this year. I believe I ordered (I could be wrong... Its been a while ) Halinski 109F and 110 with canopys and a JSC monitor Roberts. That plus postage to Australia.

Ps. Mousemuffins is the cat's name....

Hi Mousemuffins!

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with your order from Lighthouse.
I made 5 seperate orders from their sale and did have problems also although not as drastic as yours.

My last order had a model missing and I was charged for it.
My e-mails have gone unanswered as well.
You can try contacting Pay-Pal about it. They have a good dispute resolution system and they will help you get your money back at least.
I'm sure they will help you as they are very serious about this sort of thing.

On a brighter note, I too have a whole mess of models and I will gladly send you a couple to keep you interested.
All I will charge you is a smile!
This hobby is just too great for anyone to give up on after one misfortune.
There are so many honest and trustworthy sellers, I'm sure you will find another source.

Send me a PM so we can exchange contact info.

I experienced the same thing....paypal shows a deduction--but the order never arrived. got a feeling that Ralf got overwhelmed by oreders when he cut prices and mine got lost in the shuffle. Several years ago, I helped liquidate a hobby shop on Ebay, and keeping track of the orders, shipping, payments, etc became a nightmare. I can't rmember what I ordered, either--it's a write-off.

I have no doubt Lighthouse meant no harm here. The guy is a member of this forum, and I read only good comments of the service when he pulled out of business (I never bought from Lighthouse, but I liked the 2 magazines published in the web site).
So I second Russell suggestion.
I hope everything will have a happy ending on your issue.

Yeah, I'm sure things were very hectic for him during the sale.
I even recieved a package that was supposed to be delivered to a guy in Chicago. I forwarded it on to him and Ralf reimbused me the money for shipping it.
Also, one of my orders was held up by customs and took a few weeks to get to me. (5 months is a little too long though!)

I have a feeling that Ralf has gone on a much needed vacation after all was said and done and hopefully will be answering his e-mails soon. I hope.

Strange enough, i've had similar problem. I ordered several models, but when finally i received package after about 6 weeks (i chose cheapest and therefore slowest shipping) one model was missing, although sales receipt indicated it being shipped. I sent email and received prompt answer that replacement will be sent. Now after several months i'm still waiting...
