I'm still getting every thing I'll need, for the MDC two truck shay kit I'm building. I was wondering if any one has put a decoder into it and if so, what other mods would be required? It looks like the motor will need to be isolated for sure.
What about the decoder, what size would fit? what about a DZ143PS. Then I could get one for my Heisler two truck and one for the Shay two truck! Drew |

Unless MDC has changed their motors, I'd get something a little heavier than a "DZ". A DN, or a DH. The DZ might not be able to handle the current draw of the shay's motor.
