Louisville, KY Wonderfest

Wonderfest is a model show in Louisville, KY this weekend, emphasizing science fiction and fantasy, especially movie and TV subjects. It is very different from IPMS shows (no knock on IPMS shows). In addition to the model competition, it has a great dealer room and a full slate of guest talks, hands on demos, and demo talks of advanced modeling techniques, and evening entertainment. You can volunteer for a make'n'take with kids. (And for some reason security in the contest area is provided by darling little kids from the Civil Aviation Patrol.) I have no entry this year, but despite the fact that the crowd there is heavy into intricate plastic and resin models, the judges have been very kind to my paper entries in past years. Well worth a look, even if you can only make a day trip of it on Saturday.
