Default Mk 2 Ford Escort

Not much time at the moment but a rough draft done. Need to make a few fitting adjustments (obviously )and colour. The Mk 2 came in all guises from 1100 cc to the RS2000, so need to decide which model.....

I use Adobe Illustrator exclusively (as I like the programme).

I like this. A lot. Are you going to upload the template. I'd love to run that through Rhino3D and spruce it up a bit! I really like this! It's Brilliant!

Hi, thank you very much for your enthusiastic comments.

I will work on the template and upload - feel free to do what you want w/ it. The car has no frame (which it needs for better rigidity) which I am working on now

I have the colour scheming drawn up for an '79 Escort Harrier right now. The RS2000 is on the cards, of course.

Well, if you don't mind, I can add some stuff, you can edit out what ou don't like, and add on to this Gem of a model !

You can follow some of my work here:

Just so you know I am being sincere. If you have any other drawings, post them with the template. I really like the way you captured the lines of this car, a 1973 Toyota Celica would be nice, Hint, Hint!!

Hi, thanks again. I will get the template ready and upload. Add whatever you like . I need to re-emphasize that this is an Adobe Illustrator model - made purely in Adobe and 'guestimation' (no 3D modeling software involved) so I hope that is OK. I spent a lot of time working on Metasequoia / Pepa etc. but it took too long and I decided to just go with Adobe. You do beautiful work - I hope you are not disappointed w/ the template(s).

I chose the Mk 2 Escort as it is an everyman's car and anything you want it to be. There are also all the rally models as well (Adobe Illustrator makes decal reproduction fairly straight-forward). I have attached an excerpt of the template I have coloured as a '79-80 Escort Harrier (limited edition 1600).

I have also another WIP - a 1968 Hillman Hunter (London to Sydney Marathon winner). I know the 1973 Toyota Celica well and I have both fastback and saloon references so I will work on it.

Brgds,

Gearhead

The paper model you made of it shows how great the potential is. I look forward to the template! Thanks!

When I read this, my first thought was "Sweet! Hi-tech old-school!"

Looking forward to the end result...

I just wanted to give this a bump! I plan to find some interior photos. This is a great looking car and seems to lend itself to paper rather well.
