A short glimpse of the rotating gunner station and the turret. Both require some minor modifications. The model is almost complete!

Just a thought...

Anyway, this is looking great...

Thank you! But in this case there was only one working life-size model (no miniatures). It is definitely the lenses that make the difference. I would love to add some screenshots for illustration but this would certainly violate the copyrights..!

This looks AWWWWWWSOM! Was this redressed or re-skined and used in a couple of episodes of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century? I remember some kind of tracked vehicle.

Yep. They used the core of the Landram and put a new outer shell around it (including a "snout" similar to the old railway transports). And they changed the hinges of the driver's door so that it opens to the front and no longer to the back. The first time they used the re-dressed vehicle was in the pilot episode, then in "Escape From Wedded Bliss" and "Flight of the War Witch". The production team used every means to keep the costs low on the Buck pilot. They even used the Viper joystick in the Thunderfighters and a lot of stock footage in the fights. Fortuntely they spent a bit more on the series (more ships, more costumes and more explosions). And I'm glad you like it! (BTW, I have just finished the turret and gunner station!)

Thanks! Once I have the instructions standing by, I'll send you the parts for a quick and dirty test-build. Which one would you like to build, the traditional one or the A-Team version?

For the test build, I would like the original, but for my collection, both of course,

Actually, unless you're specifically barred by a hush order from whoever owns the pictures, you're free to post screenshots. They fall under fair use, because they represent much less than ten percent of the finished product (the DVD you got them from, the book in the library, wherever . . .).

So go ahead and post them. I personally love behind-the-scenes stuff like that.

And your Landram is looking better all the time! I'm not a fan of the vehicle, personally (very little "swoosh-factor"; might look good in Rebel Alliance stripes, though . . .), but I can tell quality when I see it.

Default Colonial Landram standing by!

Hello, my fellow warriors. After two long years (including a one and a half year "creative break" spent in the Buck Rogers universe ) the Landram prototype is finished! I made a little joyride in the wilderness, tested the weapons and took some pictures for you to enjoy. And yes, the turret rotates and tilts! Once RB has finished the test-build, the kit is passed onto Zathros to be added to the download section. Stay tuned! And thank you all very, very much for your patience and creative support!!!

Awesome! I have to ask (because I want to copy the technique): How did you do the laser blasts?

I do have the kit and I will be testing it very soon.
