There was a version of the tubeship released as part of the fleet in the Think Jays Galactica is Lonely thread that is also in the downloads section. There was a problem in the initial release with some intersecting parts, but a new version will be released soon.

Nice work on this one Revell-Fan. I really like the artwork you did too. I have one of those raider models I did way back when, and another that's still in the box. Of course I may never go back to plastic.

Cheers,

Steve

Hello, Steve! I'm honoured to hear from you. I have read so many of your threads on zealot. I admire your skills and everything you did for the rag-tag fleet.

I too encountered the problems with the intersecting parts. It took me a while to solve them. I have designed some new mounting arms which make assembly much easier.

This is what I did to make it look and fit better:

- cutting off all flaps on the rounded parts and glueing them from behind with paper strips
- cutting a curve into the mounting arms and closing the gaps with paper strips
- rearranging the cutting lines on (nearly) ALL tubes so that they are no longer visible
- optimizing the parts layout.

The presented model features only the modified mounting arms. I noticed that it would greatly benefit from some internal support since the tubes bend easily. I know, I could have inserted rolled up pieces of paper to increase stability, but as I said before, this was my first Pepakura model and I thought that everything would fit as is.

I hope my suggestions are useful and help improving the design of the next Tubeship version.

CU and have a nice weekend!
