Okay, so after more than 10 years in storage, I've pulled this model out and started working on it once more. Had finished working on the chassis, engine and began working on the body when it got put away. So here are some pics of where it was at when I got back to building it:
First thing I worked on was the tires - the kit provided two methods of building the tires - I opted for the version that builds actual spokes into the tires - had to build up a jig (supplied with the kit) to hold the axle centred while stringing the spokes.

I posted up a couple more build pics, but they're waiting for approval I think. Probably have a few more by the weekend as well.

Front grill / radiator:
Formers for the hood: Hood clamped in to dry - two pieces laminated: Hood installed - probably one of the toughest fits on this so far, cardstock on the upper hinge is far too thick to bend properly - going to try building a replacement piece from some lighter card to fit it better.

Those were some great assembly pics. People usually post these models already built and you don't get to see the nitty gritty of assembly. Thanks!

Just a few little things were left to finish, windshield, taillights, hood ornament and doors primarily, but all done.
Hmm, now what next.....

Incredible model. My only beef with these models is that the wheels are a bit distracting. It would be worth adding some texture to them to make them look like rubber. A minor point, that has to do with the model, not the build. This is the first time I have seen one of these built, now I know why people treasure them so. They are fantastic models. I want one!! I guess I am going to have to start looking on EBAY to see if I can find one (and scrape up some money, the harder part!).

Thanks John, I agree with the tires - they don't look to bad from a distance or in the photos, but up close they could certainly use some improvement. I know I've seen some incredible work on tires and tread work that constantly make me think 'that can't be paper'. Nevertheless, it is a nice model - I think I would have liked to do it after I learned a little more about paper modelling though and improved some of my techniques. I do still have the Wrebbit Medieval Clock and Carosel up in the closet to do, but those are going to wait a bit - I've come across many other models in the last month or so that I want to try my hand at.
