Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.G (GPM 203)

Hello to all!

I had an idea, for a long time, to complete line of main WWII german tanks, from Pz.I to Pz.VI
I have already Pz.II on the shelf, so now i decided to build Pz.III
This modification is Pz.III Ausf.G from Africa Corps, managed by legendary general Rommel

The book is repreant from 2005, but without error corrections
It has full interior and all hatches open. Also, there is an option to make removable top

I will build the model as is, only painting edges. Also, i will use laser cut tracks from Ortin.
I'm still not sure if i will make removable top or not

Well, let's start!
The frame. There is no sign on which cardboard you need to glue it, so after some measurements, i decided to glue it on 1 mm cardboard.
The pointing on side parts is wrong and little parts must be glued in reverse. You will see it on pictures.
Also, i cut out inner and outer skin, but glued only inner for now

It seems our taste is very similar. I also plan i will build to complete series of German panzer and other German combat vehicles.

Made a partition between main and engine compartment
Instruction suggests to glue the part on 1 mm cardboard, but gluing place shows that 0.5 mm will be enough.
So I understand, that I will be in need to check every detail that must be glued on some cardboard, to see if thickness is correct

Looks like another excellent tank on the way. I just look at the tracks and shudder!

Today I completed torsion bars system
There is no need to cut inside part 8 for part 8a, because it will not enter inside, and only in this way the length of bar will be sufficient, from wall to wall
Also, I advise not to assemble and glue parts in blind matter, following the numeration. Sometimes there is no logic in order. Like with parts 7 and 8. First you must glue part 8 and then 7

Hello to all!

I assembled support triangles and rails and lower floor under the turret.
The floor was a little too big for the hall, so i was in need to cut about 0.5 mm from three sides, except front.
Also, almost all support triangles must be adjusted to fit on gluing places on torsion bars.
One more important note: support triangle #10 need to be cut in width for about 1 mm, to make place for seats, that will be inserted in the future

Gearbox
Some parts need to be adjusted, but in general there was no problems.
Also I noticed, that cardboard circle diameter is equal to whole strip with gluing leaf. You can adjust the circle to strip diameter, but all gluing places based on diameter of the circles

Nice. It was easy, but the next parts is more complex. I did not fit all the parts.

Hello!
After a little vacation, I'm back to business
You're right János, transmission block took some effort to accomplish.
I advise to assemble all parts apart, to measure a lot and then to adjust everything to its place, because one part depends
on another and if you glue all parts together and then try to insert it into hall - you will fail!
As you see, side drums are apart from main block. Also, after some adjustments, it became that main block glued as its upper crossbar sticks into gear box.
After that I glued 2 drums to their places and only then the main part with gear box. Final step was shaft cover, that also needed adjustment to fit in place.

The transmission looks functional!!

Driver and radio operator seats are ready
The trick to expend the place, when i glued supports, worked.
I've managed to insert seats with no problem.

A little update
Made all the levers and pedals. Also assembled ammunition boxes
