Hello,

I proudly present you my first selfmade cube. I worked with Inkscape and made some specials. All pictures are of my build models. They are transparent, so that the scaling is still to be seen. There is only one problem, I can not draw tabs and inserted them by hand.

Greetings Andy

The cube file is about 30 MB. I have to make it smaller, before I can share it.

I'm starting a topic that may come across as slightly "wanna change the world" here, and if that's how it's taken then I apologise. The topic of resurrecting old threads on a forum is one that I have been familiar with on many forums, and it's always a loaded question. I was given the choice to continue this conversation via PMs with the admins or through a public thread. I chose the latter as it would perhaps benefit me to read what other members' opinions are too.

To recap:

Quote:

It's an interesting issue, though - what actual benefit does so-called "thanks" posts provide? The "necropost" in this case provided a "thanks" to both/either the original poster or the creator of this model, which would provide both/either of them the knowledge that their model was still being actively seen, downloaded and appreciated. Vital feedback for that modeller and some small incentive to keep providing free models, which is what this forum's all about.

A large part of the recognition and thus motivation for designing and providing free models comes from these kinds of forums, and from this sort of post in particular. Which is what prompted my initial question about it. From a certain point of view, the necroposter did not provide much in the way of new information, but did provide a very important service both to the designer and to members of this forum (like me) who signed up long after that thread stopped being updated but has not had the time to read through everything.

This thread suddenly popping up has improved my perception of the diversity and quality of the modelling work that has been featured on this forum for many years, so surely that's a good thing?

Again, I feel I should apologise for making an issue of this, but I would reiterate that the original designer has just gained at least four new downloads of his great model and some more recognition and kudos because of gideon1962's post. Sorry if this is controversial, but I hereby thank gideon for that.

Not controversial at all. In actuality, We would prefer that the person start a new thread, refer back to the old thread, if needed, and then post pictures of their build.

The reason for this is that we have had a really big problem with SPAMMERS posting in old threads, or people making two words posts in 10 minutes trying to bump up their post count, then attempt to download our complete model database for their 20 words worth of contribution. Sometimes, you see the same models we offer for free offered for sale in that Chinese Paper Model site that sells the models that everyone else gives away. Please, don't post the name of that site, I think everyone who needs to know, knows already. I can understand that the words "Thank You", could give an indication to the original poster that their model is still being download, and that people are interested. A "Thank You", in a new thread, with pictures of a build of the model, would be a better response. A new thread, with pictures of the completed model with the link offers a fresh new thread, with the same results you have stated. This is another reason we do not want people making posts such as, "Thanks", in an old thread. We have considered closing all the old threads and making them read only. That would make it necessary to make new posts and cut down on the labor involved with maintaining the website. It is like visiting your public library and the librarian asking you not to write in the books. The books are completed. Just allegory, and hyperbole is not necessary. No other implication is inferred. We would prefer a new thread, with new pictures, even of just finding the model. Some would call it double posting. I do not. I find it hard to dig into 6 year old threads and am most pleased when someone posts their own discovery of a neat model that was posted here 6 years ago. The database is vast. These are the thoughts behind why we wish people to post only in current threads. We have already stated that there is value in resurrecting an old thread, but that too can be done with posting that "such and such model is still available", and again, posting pictures of building the model you have (you in general), just downloaded, is the best way of showing thanks and appreciation to the designer. It is the way we do it here, that's all. There is no controversy. Forums have their own rules for reasons that are readily known and for other reasons that are not. If you wish to discuss this further, send me a P.M. or start a new thread on the subject of "Rules and Policies", as technically, this is off topic though the subject was mentioned. We are just people, like everyone else. We are just trying to keep the gears lubed and the machine working. While we ask that no one 'Necropost', and that idiomatic expression was not started here, we do not penalize people for doing it, though it is clearly written in the rules. We just ask them to not do it. I hope "gideon" posts a nice build thread, it could be very helpful for others who may wish to build it. :)

I'd like to comment on several points in the previous post, most of which rotate around this part:

Quote:

A "Thank You", in a new thread, with pictures of a build of the model, would be a better response.

It's a great idea, but (taking myself into consideration here) not every member may have the time or resources to build each downloaded model right away but may still want to show their appreciation to the original poster. A forum with a new thread for each thank you would soon become a huge beast that would be a nightmare to search. I think it's easier on the users and easier on the site's database to leave the original post there and allow it to be updated if/when a new person wants to show their appreciation.

Yes, there's a risk that spammers MIGHT decide to use that as an easy way yo boost their post count, but there are other ways too. You as moderators/admins already do a fantastic job on the forum in regards to instructing newcomers on the expectations of the forum members and making sure that only the best-of-the-best can contribute.

I don't think the library analogy is a good one for this site. The forum is a showcase for models and talent and is, to be honest, the only place where continuing an old thread is considered bad form. No conversation is really complete like a book would be, and adding notes or comments to a thread is akin to signing a guestbook for that model and its achievements. Yes, a new thread for a build of that model is (and should be) standard practice but having potentially hundreds of threads saying "thanks" over several years could be a lot to manage and could result in a lot of maintenance for you later.

Having one thread for the model source itself and any associated updates to it (possibly maintained by that original poster initially) would seem to be the more "site-friendly" option. Perhaps, if I can be so bold to suggest this, the original thread can be made into a one-stop resource for updates to the model, news about it or its availability and links to the build threads? As I said, not everyone may have news of a build on a model they have started themselves but still want to show their appreciation for it, and this should be applauded.

Speaking as a strictly software-development oriented person for a moment, the database for the forum will also take a serious hit from a policy that prefers a new thread for any comment on an old topic. Each new thread is a new line in a database with a new internal join to set of posts in another table. Every time this is done, a person searching the site adds another two inner joins to the SQL query that will bring back the results, and will result in a much slower response time. Not to mention potentially bloating the database.

Simply put:

Necroposting = 1 row in the whole database, 1 row added to the search result

New thread = 1 row added to two tables, two inner joins added to search query.

This hit will occur any time anyone searches the forum but will also occur any time google or another search engine hits the site (if, of course, that is allowed).

Lots of relatively small niggles, I know, but I think they're worth considering as a whole and at least discussing and I hope this post is taken in the spirit it is given. I love this forum and the people on it, even though I stay pretty quiet and don't contribute as much as I would like to (mainly because of my lack of time and resources recently, especially after taking on a book writing project) and I think that any talent showcased here should have the maximum chance of exposure even if it's just a quick thank you. Without spamming, of course.

:)

If not, maybe some refference material? I think I could try to model it (FAR, FAR, I MEAN VERY FAR from UHU02's fine art standard, so bear with me).
As the "Tantive...

Greetings to all of you people...
Continuing with the purpose of building my models in order of appearance, here is my next ship.

As the "Tantive IV" makes an attempt to escape with the stolen plans of the Death Star, an Imperial Star Destroyer Imperator Class Ship is in full pursuit led by non other than Lord Darth Vader.

The model will have 57cm (22.5 inches) long and 37 cm (14.5 inches) wide when finished. The pieces are distributed in 28 pages. This will be (once completed) the largest model in my collection so far.
Given that has large flat surfaces the model will have to be reinforced mostly by cardboard. I will use pressed cardboard, 1mm and 1.5mm for the different parts that will make up the body of the ship and some details.

The ship's body is the basis of all the assembly for the rest of the parts and it will be composed of 4 large triangular cardboard pieces, on which will be attached the different parts that make it up. I don't know why the pepakura model divided the pieces into such irregular sections, but with a little care all fit together perfectly.

After that, stick on the bottom of each of the 4 pieces the details of the overhang on the edges and on the sides of the same edges so we do not see the cardboard. And also like the edge of each piece has a certain thickness, this one is increased with 1mm thick cardboard strips.

After finishing with the lower detail of each piece, we continued with the glued in pairs to thus obtain the upper and lower panels of the ship. A strip of paper on the junction of the two pieces would leave a "hinge" which would allow graduate the inclination of each panel to get the correct form of the ship. This angle would be dictated by the form obtained by the tail piece. This piece is reinforced with cardstock, to give more rigidity than just paper and once assembled will be ready to form the base of the ship.

As we begin the assembly of the base, I started with the lower panels of the ship, to these were added the side pieces that will give the separation of the upper parts from the lower ones, then I added the tail piece and then allowed to to dry thoroughly before proceeding. With the tail piece installed and the ship beginning to take shape, I placed some internal reinforcements to make sure that the angles of the lower panels don't suffer any variation by handling in the future. Once this is done you can proceed to place the "lid"; I mean the upper panels of the ship's body, to close it and obtain a solid basis for the assembly of other parts.

And ready .... you get a solid base, handleable, on which you will work the details. The ship is taking shape and is quite resistant to handling. Next I will work on the details of the ship and finally the upper superstructure and weaponry.

Hi,

This question has probably been asked a lot, but what materials do I use for my models?

I recently started building models for Warhammer 40k and other tabletop wargames. I mainly use foamcore and drawing paper, because its stronger than normal paper but still easy to cut and glue.

Since I play games with them the models need to be able to withstand the rough and thumble of the moment.

I could use plasticcard but I want to keep it low budget at the moment since I'm still learning and make a lot of mistakes.

As adhesives I use PDA and gluesticks.

Any responce would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello there,

after a long absence from papercraft, I´ve just finished the little japanese cargo ship, that´s free to download from the internet and stuffed it with some containers that I also downloaded for free from the internet (but had to rescale them in order to fit the 1/250 scale).

So it´s nothing fancy or special, just a little warm-up before I start with another coastal feeder MS Claudia and then - hopefully - will finally move on to begin with Barry´s Maersk Sealand.

H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds has to be one of my favorite novels; can't count the number of times I've read it since age ten...
That being said, I've always wanted to make my own model of the Tripods from the book; be it Jeff Wayne's design (I've built many copies of Cut & Paste's model) or Spielberg's cuttlefish-like monstrosities. But, I decided to make my own design (partly out of hubris, but more due to the fact that I'm not good enough to do a model of Wayne's or Spielberg's designs)

I'm almost done with the model; just have instructions, a cover sheet, and the testbuild left to do. Might do a stand if I feel like it.

The design I thought up (not that great, I know.):

Multiple views (meant more for my own use; so don't expect anything profressional-grade):

And the parts so far:

This was one of the first designs I was considering, which I promptly ditched for multiple reasons. May resurrect it if people like:

Anyway, that's all for now until Friday or some such other date in the near future. I'll try to post more progress pics if I get any more progress done

Been getting into BSG lately so here is the Sirius repaint of the paper toy-box TOS viper and also Ninjatoe's reboot MKII both in 1/72.Now I'm just looking forward to Revell-Fan and UHU02's vipers which i will also attempt in this scale but with cockpits :D. I never realized how small the vipers really were until these builds lol, compared to sayyyyy an X-wing

I find it sad that wonderful paper models of engines and carriages are designed with drab 1-dimensional wheels. That is why I designed a simple mathematical formula to calculate the form of a 3-dimensional wheel with 3 parts. With this improvement, I have been able to improve the excellent models of Albrecht Pirling.
If anyone is interested, I also improved a number of my aircraft models (see my latest DC-3 on www.bobscardmodels.net76.net and http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...ul-trophy.html, ) constructing the wheels as made up of numerous paper discs.

So for my 3rd paper model I decided to tackle the ISS. AXM has an amazing model of this. Every time I put a section together I learn something new. I suspect that by the time I get closer to the end I will be doing things a lot better and more efficient. Having said that I'm not building this completely the way it was put together in space therefore I'll skip a few things that are no longer on the station or at least in it's final position. I'm having so much fun with this. Thanks to Revell-Fan I now have my correct sized shuttle so I have just started on that to hold the lower section while I'm working on the other half. Anyway here's the first part that I've been working on this weekend.

The docking mech was a huge pain in the butt the first time. The second was a little easier and better so I'm learning lol

Hi friends,

Just a quick introduction to a wonderful bunch of creative folks! I'm a model builder from way back. first plastic kits, then kit bashing. I'm retired now in my fifties due to a disabling back disease and have been building with paper for the past dozen or so years (can't afford those plastic things anymore). I admire the talent it takes to create these great ships, guns, and figures. One day I hope to learn to design some myself. I am proud to be affiliated with your group and look forward to being a Zealot a lot!

Best wishes,
Mark(Gideon):thumb:

PS. I'm searching for a papercraft file to build a 1:1 replica of a ppg pistol from Babylon 5. Also any props from Star trek: Enterprise, such as the phase pistol, tricorder, and communicator. all help is appreciated!

Thanks Much!

Stumbled across this site and have fallen in love with the high quality builds going on here!
I've dabbled in foam and paper craft costuming before but never modelling, but after seeing some inspiring builds here I'm currently planning out a fleet of Star Wars ships as well as possibly a small Armoured Company of Imperial Guard to use as an allied company.

I play heavy amounts of lots of wargames and do a lot of painting and conversion work, as well as collecting rare and old models for games too, but I have always focussed on infantry based armies so this will be a nice gateway into adding more armour to my armies :)

Here's links to 3 other LAJ layouts being built:
Colin's ca 1' x 6' shelf layout in England - http://tinyurl.com/btbb6de
Bob C's layout in Los Alamitos CA - http://tinyurl.com/cws6uzy
Tony's basement layout in WI - http://tinyurl.com/d2cf7mo

Here's a link to my current LAJ layout: http://tinyurl.com/cj6dp3h
Shown in the link are my plan, Switching Maps of the Leads to be modeled, aerial of the LAJ in Vernon CA & one staging tray idea to be used at Malabar Yard. Thinking about using a "pigeon hole" type storage under layout vs drawers. Got the idea to use Malabar for staging from Bob C another LAJ modeler. The layout is in a 10' x 14' room ao it ts VERY compressed! Besides ATSF, Malabar will be used for SP & UP interchange trains going to/from the LAJ yard. Should be enough switching to keep 3-4 operators busy w/o getting in each others way too much. It's being built on modules in case a move is ever needed. Comments & questions are welcome. Anyone else building an LAJ layout?
Diesel can you add anything more here

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm wanting to know if anyone knows of a place that I can find a 1:100 scale shuttle model. The only one I've found is very complicated and way to time consuming for me right now. (lower hudson valley) I'm building the AXM ISS and everything I do needs to be in 1:100 but the only shuttles they have are in 1:144 scale. Now if you have a secret to being able to birth the 144 shuttle to the 100 ISS I could live with that as well. (I just haven't modeled enough to learn these types of things yet) Dang there's just to many things to build. I can't believe I've waited this many years to try this out wall1

Any online search will give you images of the tank from the game. There is very little information on this vehicle beyond a 1 view side drawing.

Enjoy!

Here's what my city just had to put up with for the past 10 days. Rochester stood-in for New York City, for a chase and action sequence being filmed for the latest Spider-Man movie. Stills and video clips linked. The chase shown in the second half of the first video was right in front of a former department store where my daughter attended college last semester. The closing of Main Street made her walk an additional 3 blocks to get to her shuttle bus from there to the school's suburban campus she goes to now. It was interesting, but that was also the main bus stop for the whole city. Its nice to have the normal routes back. My daughter will be glad not to be late for class any more, too.

Greetings again dear friends!!
I'm back with the next model, just like I said.
As you know, I've attached almost exclusively to the line of Star Wars models. And frankly I enjoy doing more classical models of the original trilogy saga. So here I start with the first ship we all saw emerging at the begining of the Episode IV, the consular ship "Tantive IV" also known as the "Blockade Runner". There we witnessed princess Leia trying to make a run for its money with the stolen Death Star plans on her way to Alderaan.

The completed model have about 39cms (about 15.5") long and also didn't needed too many modifications to the original design. But because of their shape and length, it did needed some internal reinforcements, this to avoid deformation during and after assembly.

I started with the tail, the section corresponding to the engines. Each engine is composed of two parts to be assembled, a box and a cylinder.
This work was repeated 11 times, for the 11 engines that make up this section.

Once all is finished I continued with the next part of the tail section. The box that will connect all engines and will serve as an anchor for the next section of the ship. This "central case" of the tail section also consists of two parts that had to be reinforced with cardboard so they are rigid enough and also support all the parts that are attached to this one.
The following eight pieces, are what bind the 8 engines to the central tail box. These are easy to assemble and do not require any reinforcement.

Once you have all the 8 pieces, attach this ones first to the tail's central box and then glue the engines. This is done in order to ensure that each engine is straight and well in place. At the end you will get the complete tail section with the engines properly aligned and spaced from each other.

This concludes the assembly of the tail section. Is not too complicated but it needs enough reinforcing, imagination and ingenuity to make it sturdy and solid. Later I will continue with the middle section of the ship.

Saludos.

As commanded by Zathros, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Paul Delamere and I am the author of a project to digitally map all of Canada's current and historical electric railways. I originally posted to this forum several years ago seeking information on the Oshawa Railway. Since that time my project has taken me to all ten provinces in Canada to research and study the history of electric streetcar, light rail transit and industrial railways in Canada. I now have an almost complete, detailed collection of digital maps that are available here for free:

www.cermc.webs.com

You must have Google Earth to view the collection. Contained in the 1 to 1 scale maps are links to historical photos posted by museums and archives across Canada, physical details, stops and stations, track lengths and industrial user names, car house locations and track plans, in short, just about anything of a physical nature that was placed on the ground by the various transit companies and railways. Some short histories are also provided in the file tree folders as well as citations and other details where available and can be accessed by left clicking the lines in the maps. The camera icons on the map, when double clicked, will display the images from the photographers point of view.

This is an ongoing project and updates are posted from time to time. My next update will feature the Montreal Tramway Company and I am using 1947 to 1949 aerial photos of Montreal to improve the current map. I recommend taking a free membership on the website to receive update announcement notices when they occur. These maps are useful for anyone who is interested in modeling their city's ancient transit system and I hope anyone who may have information not already noted on the maps will share it with me to help improve the accuracy of the collection.

Thank you

Paul Delamere

I use Microsoft paint to further develop into paper model pattern based on my experience and I did borrow some parts (Bow and propeller) from USS Los Angeles pattern, modified into this nice sub.
I still not satisfy with the stern part of the ship. I still need to figure out how to make it better.

OK let me say that even though this takes forever I'm really starting to enjoy this. I still have no clue as to what I'm doing but that's half of the fun right? My first model is of the Space-X Dragon (capsule) and aft this is complete I'll move onto the Falcon-9 with Dragon payload model. I'm having a blast doing this (beats sitting in from of my PC playing games all night)

OK I finished the model. I must say that I'm pleased for a first timer. I learned some things with this one and will have that in the old memory bank now. The cool thing about this model is I will save it and add it to the space station model when I start on it later this year. (Need to make a few/lots more models first)

I downloaded newobmij's eldar wave serpent. Instructions a lacking for the build so I will make a build thread for it. You can find the download here on Armorman's thread http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthre...170912&page=17 scroll down and almost at the bottom of page 17, you will see the PDF download. As usual, I tend to embellish my models and this will be no exception. There are some fit problems and some structural differences, the main one is in that the curved wings should fold down, but if you do, then you will have fit problems with the bottom engine structure. The cockpit does not lay back on the front glacis and the weapons under the cockpit is over the front intake. With the cockpit in the postion depicted in my build, it would fit great with the Farseers grav tank. That is the one with a head that looks like the BSG Cylon raider. So here is the start of the build. The first photos, is where I am at the moment. The second, is the creators photos which I used for the build reference.

I have been absent from the forums with a builders block, but I am back and I will finish the San Salvador hybrid. Enjoy and see you all around the forum.:wave::wave:

Just thought I would share some of these with you guys. I'm a huge space fan. I've been to Cape Canaveral a few times and could spend days in the NASA facility with no problems. I was fortunate enough to get to see the engineers put together a piece of the ISS the first time I visited. I've been to the space center in Texas as well.

I went to the next to last shuttle launch. It went flawless and was the most beautiful thing (besides the wife :thumb:) that I've ever seen. Little did I know that I got some pics of the boosters separating until after I got back to where I was staying and brought it up on the PC. Enjoy

Just clearing the tower:

Here's a good pic of it turning

I hope you can see this (you may have to enlarge it) but this is where the boosters separated

I sometimes make models for people for various reasons. They are one offs. This is a Tugboat Hermes I am making for a doctor/friend of mine. He is helping me out a lot and charging me far less than what he could be. I am making the boat as a gift, he has no idea I am making it. He captained a 67 foot long pleasure craft, holding all the certification, but told me he always wanted a Tugboat. So now, I will give him one. :) The pictures you see of the hull are the drawings used to develop the surface. The final hull will be composed of horizontal lines to the waterline, and vertical lines of the bottom of the ship developed off of the ships present skinning. When making a ship to be made out of paper, you must model it to take that into consideration. So the ship does not look "perfect", but that is because all the parts unroll, and it is easy to "Render" really nice models that can't be built. :)

p.s. This is one reason the "Hot-Rod" had to go to the back-burner.

Hello, everyone.

I'm from the middle of nowhere (middle of Illinois) and always looking for something new and interesting to do/build.

I used to put plastic models together when I was a kid, everything from Nascar to helicopters and jets to Star Trek. I even went to my mom's house recently and got all my old Star Trek stuff out of the boxes they were in and brought them home, much to my wife's annoyance. There are a few models I never even opened the shrink-wrap on!

Now, I'm very interested in paper models. I am pretty new to it, I've only assembled a few models so far. I made a small-scale weapon from World of Warcraft and a warlock tier set helm from the same game that was full-sized and you can wear. For some reason, though, the Star Trek bug has bit me hard and I'm planning on building some ships (or a lot!) and going to try to scale them to my 1/2500 models.

Looking forward to learning a lot about this hobby from this forum and the people here!

Dear space freaks,
after some small projects in xxs i will starting something in xxl. I don´t know how long it will take to finish this project because it has not the first priority in my life. But I hope that it is possible to get a model who is relevant to the original. The first step was to get the plans and photos of the LM5. After that I made the decision about the materials that I want to use.

I am completely new (3 weeks) to the whole paper modeling deal. I've resisted for 20 years (been doing plastic models for 35+ years). My first attempt was the Space-X Falcon-9 Dragon. The capsule wet together great. The issue I had was with the rocket itself. The drawing had no tabs to glue under and the pattern for the outside did not look like it could piece together if I put any part of it overlapping. (The wife then suggested I make my own tab, Why didn't I think of that lol)

Having said all of that the issue now is what kind of things do you guys do/use to make the card stock curl? I use 110lb paper. It doesn't exactly want to curl to easily.

Greetings :) I am new to card modeling. I figured I would start with this with my new 8 year old daughter (adopted her in January). So far I am liking it far more vs just building models. I was directed to this site from Jay's Box. Building a few of his models and they are really sweet, easier, and quicker to build with my daughter. Any advice on good models for kids to do on their own?

I've found out that Roco had made a WW2 US GMC CCKW (holy acronyms!) that had a hi-rail setup. I recently found one on eBay and I'm trying to get it for cheap. I model early WW2 era in model railroading and I plan to have a troop train for a maintenance battalion on the move, so I think this should fit in nicely. For the deuce and a half, I'll probably need to make a canvas for the back so I can hide all the electrical goodies because as sweet as it would be to leave the back exposed for who knows what to tag along in the back, realistically I don't see it happening. I'd like to also power both rear axles to make it somewhat realistic off the rails. 6x6 would be freaking amazing, but this is my first attempt and I'm not shooting for the moon just yet. After all, I still have train stuff to build.

Nonetheless, I'm still stunned by all the technology that can be crammed into such a tiny space. This should be an interesting adventure.
I have done several models of buildings for my HO/OO scale British, Irish, and American trains. I've also made paper card models of ships, real spacecraft, and science fiction spacecraft. I don't have any photos of any of my models other than one of my science fiction spaceships, the S.S.

Greetings friends!!!.
Here I am again to show you my next model, which is also from Star Wars. The B-Wing Starfighter. This heavy fighter made its appearance in Episode VI during the attack on the second Death Star.

This ship has the particularity of rotate its cockpit 90 degrees (well, it can rotate 360), to adopt a horizontal or vertical configuration, according to need.

I found this little model for quite some time now, and its time came up. The file comes in .pdo so has some small errors in the model so you need to make some repairs or modifications on the way, no big deal. Besides, that's the beauty of this hobby. I built this one on August 2011.

Starting at the cockpit, this piece consisted of a cylinder without caps, so I had to add two round pieces of (1mm) cardboard with a hole in the center for the rotation axis. You'll end up with a drum-like piece, quite firm and solid, something that is very necessary as this piece is the one that holds the cockpit section to the neck of the ship and also allow the rotation of the entire cabin. Then I made another paper cylinder 1cm in diameter and introduced by the rotation axis holes. This small cylinder will be the rotation axis, which I made some tabs to serve as the contact surface and paste those to the parts that go to the ends of the drum and then the cabin

The other parts of the cockpit need hardly any modification. I saw that this model comes also with interior cabin, nothing complicated, so this is my first model that will have visible interiors. The only problem was the glass of the cabin itself. But, following a friend's advice, I took a small plastic bottle of soda and after a few cuts, curses, cut another piece for a second attempt, more cuts, wrestle the piece and a little patience ... And voila!

Then, I assembled the pieces of the cockpit's bottom and with the help of a small fine needle I made the guns that lodge in the nose. They are rather small, with less than a cm long and about 1 mm in diameter. So patience was the star of the day Then, I assembled all the modules to form what will be the whole section of the ship's cockpit.

Then, I continued with the neck of the ship. It's a simple section that also features some minor changes and additions to improve the structure of the ship.
Here I added some cardboard internal reinforcements to give more firmness to the piece in addition to a better area of contact with the drum of the cockpit, so this assures that it's well stuck and firm for when the cockpit section needs to be turned.

Finally there are these little side pieces that need to be cut a bit to fit, which serve to secure better the drum to the neck and in addition, also hide some unsightly joints.
