I have just finished a half-size version of the latest Yamaha motorcycle - the motocross YZ450FM.

Apart from the size, it is largely a stock build of the kit, but I have made rather more realistic "wire" wheels, using a method based very much on Eric Goedkoop's (here).

It certainly made an interesting change from the usual road bikes. More pics here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan.grayer/Motorcycles/Yamaha/YZ450FM/index.htm).

Thank you guys - and special thanks to Eric for your work on the wire wheels.

I'm glad you found the method useful.

Out of curiousity, what diameter are the wheels on this model?

Eric

The wheels are almost exactly 50mm in diameter. On an average display, the small-size pics are quite close to actual size - the linked full-size versions are roughly 3x. Goes some way to explain the less-than-excellent quality of the build.
