hey all
Sorry that ive been out for a while, like most ive had life getting in the way and had so much going on, including my pc spluttering to a halt and dying on me, meaning a fresh install of our favourite windows and starting all over again, putting everything back ...... :headbange: that said between this and other things going on ive had to put alot of my builds on hold for now but suffice to say they will continue.
As a question of curiosity while perusing the web i saw some great images of model trucks in larger scale - ive seen those on Minimodel.sk but im referring to kits of Kenworth/Peterbilt/Mack (American big rigs) in1.33 scale or larger but im having a major hard time tracking any down. I know of Ronaldo M. but it seems his blog is no longer online, and pinterest shows me some great finished models but no links......anyone of the wise folks here know of any around?
Thanks all, hoping everyone is well

I'm sorry to hear that. Getting everything back on can be quite nerve-wracking. I hope you have backed up your files. As for now-defunct websites, there is always a possibility that they have been archived by the wayback machine. Unfortunately there are no trucks on my todo list as of now but I am currently working on a 1:24 Ford F-550 ambulance which I will show you after the kitchen build. One of the best-looking larger scale truck models is Julius' Optimus Prime vehicle mode model.

wow that archive is vast.....ive managed to grab a couple - the Optimus Prime Truck, one from Paper Replika and the grail Ronaldo M's Peterbilt 281 (from Duel) thanks for the great assist o wise ones.....my searches tend to be general google 'kenworth papercraft' 'peterbilt papercraft' and although theres lots of pics of finished models (mainly pinterest) not much in the way of links (none live or safe) so its a great help :toast:

I dig deep. I always add a space, then "-Pinterest" to get them and their search results out of the way. I don't know how they got to clog up search so much, but I never use Pinterest. In the end, I find the original sources when I type "-Pinterest" after my query statement. ;)

i think its because when it comes to card kits, im not really sure where to start - also because im late to the game and these kits have been around for a while, where as some of the sites no longer are lol. Deffo a Sherlock Holmes job trying to find some of them, thats why you guys are awesome, being so helpful and willing to advise etc.

I would suggest getting an external hard-drive to store all of your important files (like paper/cardstock model templates). After having a full systems crash and losing everything that I had, I have one now, and store EVERYTHING in it!

 yeeeaaaaa.....done that lol, i had recently acquired one and was in the process of moving stuff when my machine crapped out, luckily (or not) i didnt lose everything but suffice to say there i alot less than there was. All my resources from online went, luckily i was able to remember the main ones but alot have gone, so its back to starting over with most of it. Between hospital appointments and that its all come to a grinding halt while i rebuild....reinstall....redo lol

I really enjoy helping people find models. I have a strong antivirus/VPN set up, and I go to places virus ridden, even removing virus's from some models to make them usable again.

Likewise, I think just about everyone in this forum will help another member if they have the answer. ;)

Luckily, I had my 2 Tb Seagate dive when my laptop crashed. Now I
m just running an elcheapo deluxe Mini PC, Beelink M12 with an intel Alder Lake N100 processor, but 500 gb SSD and 16 gb of DDR5 ram. it runs Windows 11 home fine.

i have a 1tb SSD, im on windows 10 though. Both mine and my partners PC's are custom built, - it was a windows issue that caused the machine to crap out, after an update went wonky (shockingly) I had recently gotten the SSD as i felt backing up a bit more might be a good idea, and was slowly doing that when my machine :skull but im slowly getting there with the files, although i have no idea how many sites i lost lol. But therein lies the rub i guess - live without the tech and avoid issues or live and learn lol - suffice to say i back up alot more now that i used to :hammerhead:

I have a 2T Solid State for my main "C" drive, and x2 2T back up drives. O have a 4T back up disc drive that is USB3 that I have to hook up to back up everything onto.

The computers sure do run smooth when you first reinstall everything. My 8 Core AMD Ryzen 9 5800XT runs great. A bit long in the tooth, 24G's of Ram, 3.7 GHz per core. An Asus TUF B550 Plus MoBo, 8 GHz of Ram on the Ryzen 9 Graphics card. The water cooled CPU Radiator would probably work on my M.G., the CPU never gets warm. Fingers crossed that it lasts forever. I do not want to build another computer. I have built every computer I have owned since home P.C.'s began.

My son's P.C. is truly a monster. He went all out. ;)

One of my older lads builds and sells custom machines, and did ours, I cant fault the machine it was the @*£!%!!!! operating system. Theyre mainly used for the net and some mild gaming (Warcraft for the past 14 years) My brother is a software engineer and has been since he was 18. I think tech is just another daily daily thing these days now that everyone pretty much has some form of access to, and aside from some kind of mass solar event i think we will always have it in some form or another. In 100 years time i imagine people will STILL be saying 'dont forget to back up everything!' lol

im getting into the habit of making sure ive backed up every day where possible, if i need to. If im doing alot of work/downloading then as soon as its done and checked it gets saved to the backup. I cant always due to to my situation but its a damn sight more than previously lol
